DESIGN PLANNING

Ideas brought to life...

Nestled in the heart of Virginia Highlands, this 1925 bungalow was home to a young, growing family that needed a room for everyone. We took on the challenge and found a creative way to add two bedrooms and a large shared bath on the second level as well as incorporating a desirable upstairs laundry. The project required removing the original roof entirely at the rear of the house from the ridge down and in its place a full-height addition was constructed. New and old were meticulously blended together paying respect to the original architecture and styling of the home keeping the front facade uneffected. In the end, the new spaces were light, bright, and served as the perfect backdrop for fun family memories.
